WASHINGTON GAS SWEEPSTAKES RULES

The following are the official rules (“Official Rules”) of the Washington Gas Customer Appreciation  Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”).  By participating, each participant agrees as follows:

ELIGIBILITY:
The Sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents, 18 years of age and older, residing in the Washington Gas Service Territory. Please view the Washington Gas Service Territory to see if you are eligible.

You do not need to be a Washington Gas customer to enter or win. Employees or agents of Washington Gas Light Company (“Washington Gas”), WGL Holdings, Inc., WGL Energy Services, Inc., AltaGas, Ltd. or any other affiliate or subsidiary of AltaGas, Ltd. or any entity associated with this Sweepstakes, as well as members of the same household of any such employee or agent, are not eligible to participate.

PRIZE AND PRIZE CONDITIONS:
Limit of one (1) entry per person. There will be a total of two hundred (200) tickets  awarded at the conclusion of the Sweepstakes Period, two (2) for each winning entry. Each Prize Recipient (individual chosen by random selection), upon Washington Gas’ confirmation of eligibility, will receive two (2) tickets to the Nationals vs Atlanta Braves on September 21st 2023 (each set of two (2) tickets is a “Prize”). 

All costs, fees, taxes (including, but not limited to, federal, state, and local income and sales taxes), if any, and any other costs or expenses related to acceptance and use of the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Prize Recipient. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and may not be substituted. Washington Gas assumes no responsibility or liability for damages loss, or injury resulting from acceptance or use of the Prize. Washington Gas is not responsible for replacing gift cards in the event of loss of Prize.

SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD:
The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:00 AM August 14, 2023 (Eastern Time) and end on or about 11:59 PM August 31, 2023. (Eastern Time) (“Sweepstakes Period”).

DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION:
On September 1, 2023 or some other date (as determined by Washington Gas in its sole discretion) (“Prize Drawing Date”) following the conclusion of the Sweepstakes Period, the Prize Recipients will be selected in one (1) random drawing from among all eligible entries received by Washington Gas. Odds of winning a Prize will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. Such odds are equal regardless of the method of entry used to enter the Sweepstakes.

Washington Gas will endeavor to notify each Prize Recipient by telephone or U.S. mail, email, or by other reasonable means. If the Price Recipient fails to respond to Washington Gas within five (5) days after being so notified, or if such notification or the Prize itself is returned as undeliverable, then at Washington Gas’ sole discretion the Prize Recipient may be deemed to have forfeited any and all rights to receive the Prize, and Washington Gas may elect to (but shall not be required to) select an alternate Prize Recipient by means of another random drawing pursuant to the procedures provided herein.

To obtain a list of the Prize Recipients, which will be available after the Prize Drawing Date, you should send a self-addressed stamped business size envelope to Washington Gas Light Company, Attn: Washington Gas Autopay Sweepstakes, 6801 Industrial Road, Springfield, VA, 22151. 

ENTRIES:
Participants may enter through either of the following two (2) methods.

1. Online — Participants can enter the Sweepstakes during the Sweepstakes Period by visiting the following website: washingtongas.com/175sweepstakes. At the website, participants will be instructed to follow the links and instructions to complete a form. Participants will be required to provide their full name, a valid phone number, and a valid email address. All required information must be provided to enter and to be eligible to win. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Each completed registration will result in one (1) entry. All online entries must be received by 11:59 PM August 31, 2023 (Eastern Time).
2. By Mail —To participate by mail, participants must submit a business reply card to Washington Gas during the Sweepstakes Period. The following information is required on the business reply card: the participant’s full name, a valid phone number, and a valid home address. All required information must be provided to enter and to be eligible to win. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Each completed business reply card will result in one (1) entry. All mailed entries must be legible and received by August 31, 2023. Individuals who wish to participate in the Sweepstakes by mail can contact Washington Gas at (703) 624-6127 for a business reply card to be mailed to their home address.

CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:
Each Prize Recipient will be required to produce identification satisfactory to Washington Gas to claim a Prize. Prize Recipients will have two (2) business days from the time they are contacted by Washington Gas to accept or deny the Prize, or the Prize may be forfeited. Anyone using fraudulent means to participate in and/or win the Sweepstakes will be disqualified. The Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. Prizes are non-transferrable.

RELEASE AND INDEMIFICATION:
By entering the Sweepstakes, each participant agrees to (a) comply with and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Washington Gas, which are binding and final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, and (b) release and indemnify Washington Gas, and its officers, directors, agents, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, employees, and contractors from any and all claims, demands and/or causes of action of any nature or kind whatsoever, whether presently known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, that arise or may arise out of the participant’s participation in the Sweepstakes.

ADDITIONAL TERMS
Washington Gas reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules. In the event of a dispute as to entries submitted by multiple users having the same email account, the authorized subscriber of the email account used to enter the Sweepstakes at the actual time of entry will be deemed to be the participant and must comply with these Official Rules. The authorized account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses or the domains associated with the submitted e-mail addresses. Entries generated by robots, scripts, or other automated devices will be deemed to be a direct violation of these Official Rules, and any such entries shall be deemed invalid and ineligible for purposes of the Sweepstakes. 

By participating in the Sweepstakes, you fully and unconditionally agree to accept these Official Rules and the decisions of Washington Gas, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
Washington Gas is not responsible for any late, lost, illegible, incomplete, or misdirected entries, or responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in the Sweepstakes; any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access of the website; any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer(s) related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes. If, for any reason the Sweepstakes cannot be conducted as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Washington Gas which, in the sole opinion of Washington Gas, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Washington Gas reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes or the drawing and may conduct drawing and select a recipient from among all eligible entries received for the drawing prior to the action taken. In no event will Washington Gas, its affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, or contractors be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of access to and participation in the Sweepstakes. Check local laws for any restrictions or conditions regarding these limitations and/or exclusions.

USE OF DATA:
By participating in the Sweepstakes and providing any personal contact information, participants hereby agree to Washington Gas’ collection and usage of their personal information. Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes Prize Recipient’s consent to Washington Gas’ and its’ agents’ use of Prize Recipient’s name, likeness, photograph, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, without further payment or consideration, unless otherwise prohibited by law. 

GOVERNING LAW:
All issues and questions concerning these Official Rules, participants’ rights and obligations or the rights and obligations of Washington Gas in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by the laws of the District of Columbia without regard to the conflicts of law principles thereof. Any lawsuit, claim, dispute, or other action related to the Sweepstakes must be brought only in an appropriate federal or state court sitting in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
