Senior Vice President - Support Services and Chief Human Resources Officer, WGL Holdings, Inc. and Washington Gas
Luanne Gutermuth was named Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for WGL Holdings, Inc. and Washington Gas in October 2014. Prior to this, she was Vice President of Human Resources & Organization Development for Washington Gas, effective Oct. 1, 2010. She is responsible for employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, recruiting and employee training and development. She is also responsible for establishing a workforce strategy and leadership programs that support the company's overall business objectives. In addition, she oversees the Support Services, Rates & Regulatory Affairs, and Business Transformation Office departments.
Ms. Gutermuth joined Washington Gas in 1998. She has held a number of leadership positions throughout the company, including business planning, organization and employee development and business process improvement. She successfully led the company's initiative to contract with a global provider for services in Human Resources, Information Technology, Customer Service and other areas. In her most recent position, before being elected vice president, Ms. Gutermuth led Washington Gas' Consumer Services division, where, in addition to establishing customer service strategy and policies, she had responsibility for meter reading, customer billing, credit and collections, customer care and cash receipts. Prior to joining Washington Gas, Ms. Gutermuth gained broad leadership experience in a number of industries, including healthcare and energy.
Ms. Gutermuth is affiliated with the American Gas Association and the Executive Network program of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. She is an active member of the community, participating in Washington Gas' community service activities and serving in volunteer leadership positions in local nonprofit organizations.
Ms. Gutermuth is a graduate of the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and of the University of Maryland with a Master of Business Administration degree. She also completed the Organization Development certificate program at Georgetown University.
Ms. Gutermuth lives with her husband and three children in Annandale, VA.
