Washington Gas offers rebates on high-efficiency natural gas equipment, helping to reduce customers’ energy consumption and save money on their utility bills. Customers can also take advantage of rebate savings directly from equipment manufacturers. These rebates can be combined.
Additionally, Washington gas offers an Online Home Energy Profile to educate customers on how to save energy and money in their homes. Customers can potentially receive a free Energy Conservation Kit, depending on survey responses.
District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) helps our customers in Washington, D.C save energy and money through energy efficiency programs. DCSEU provides rebates to homeowners for the installation of energy-efficient equipment. To learn more about available rebates, visit www.dcseu.com.
Washington Gas participates in the EmPOWER Maryland initiative- helping homeowners and other residential customers with individually-metered accounts throughout Maryland to reduce energy use and save money on utility bills. As part of the initiative, rebates are available for ENERGY STAR certified natural gas equipment and furnace tune-up services provided by an EmPOWER Contractor. Washington Gas high-efficiency rebates can be combined with manufacturer rebates.
Maryland Washington Gas customers must work with pre-approved contractors in the EmPOWER Contractor Network to qualify for a high-efficiency rebate. Water heaters and dryers can also be purchased by a customer at approved retailers and installed using retailer installation services or an EmPOWER Contractor. All participating contractors are properly licensed and insured. Equipment must be installed by December 31, 2023, by a participating contractor to qualify for the rebate.

Participation is easy! To qualify for a rebate:
1. Find a participating contractor
Already have a contractor? Encourage them to join our network for your new equipment or tune-up to qualify for our high-efficiency rebates.
2. Have your participating contractor install the qualifying high-efficiency equipment or complete the service.
3. Your participating contractor will submit a rebate application on your behalf.
4. Receive rebate on contractor invoice or via check in the mail within 6-8 weeks of completed application.

Rebates for natural gas equipment for Virginia residential customers are no longer available. Please consider taking the Online Home Energy Profile to learn more about how you can save energy and money in your home and potentially receive an energy conservation kit.
Washington Gas partners with area manufacturers to offer rebate incentives on energy-efficient appliances for homeowners. Manufacturer rebates can also be combined with Washington Gas rebates for additional incentive savings to reduce upfront costs.
Rinnai Tankless Water Heaters: SE+, SE, HE+, and HE Series (all Models).
Rinnai will begin offering targeted Washington Gas customers in Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia a direct rebate program in an amount of $100.00 for all SE+, SE, and HE+ Series Rinnai tankless water heaters and $50.00 for HE Series Rinnai tankless water heaters purchased and installed during the program dates.
All Washington Gas Customers must purchase Qualifying Product between July 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Product must be installed by January 15, 2022 and customers must submit the Claim form (Exhibit 1) and the invoice for purchase and installation for Qualifying Product no later than February 15, 2022. Rebate may take up to 8-12 weeks for processing.
