Brandon T. Todd Joins Washington Gas as Director of Corporate Public Policy
Mr. Todd brings nearly 20 years of government affairs, public service, economic development and community relations experience
December 21, 2020 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Washington Gas has named Brandon T. Todd as Director of Corporate Public Policy. In this role, he will lead the company’s public policy group, overseeing federal, state and local government relations for the regulated utility that serves more than 1.2 million customers across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Mr. Todd, who starts on January 4, 2021, brings nearly 20 years of government, non-profit and community engagement experience to the company, which has its headquarters office in the District of Columbia.

Mr. Todd will be integral in the development and execution of Washington Gas’ external relations strategy to advocate for the company’s business and policy priorities among regulators, lawmakers and key partners. He will also be instrumental in representing the company with government officials, community organizations and industry trade groups, ensuring effective representation while reinforcing a commitment to the needs and concerns of the communities served by Washington Gas.
Prior to joining Washington Gas, Mr. Todd most recently served as Councilmember of Ward 4 for five and a half years, where he was one of thirteen members of the Council elected to represent a diverse constituency of more than 86,000 residents. His track record of leadership in areas such as economic development, legislative, policy, budget and constituent services includes acting as the Chairman of the DC Council Committee on Government Operations.
