Washington Gas is proud to receive the esteemed Clarion Award for Best Fund Development campaign. Our winning entry highlighted a year in the life of the Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF), our flagship initiative to help families heat their homes during the winter.
Since 1973, the Clarion Awards have honored excellence in more than 100 categories across all communications disciplines. These include advertising and marketing, audiovisual productions, books and CDs, brochures, custom and special publications, education, fund development, magazines, major news events, newsletters, newspapers, online media, photography, graphics and design communications, public relations, radio and television.
“Receiving the Clarion is a proud moment for the Washington Area Fuel Fund,” said Michelle Musgrove, Vice President of Customer Experience at Washington Gas. “2023 is the 40th anniversary of the program, and raising awareness during such a milestone year allows us to assist even more families. We are honored to have our team recognized for their hard work within our local communities.”
As we celebrate our 175th anniversary, Washington Gas is honored to have served our area since 1848. In the past 40 years, our WAFF initiative has distributed over $33 million to help more than 308,000 households heat their homes when other sources of aid may not be available. Washington Gas is proud to oversee WAFF and to pay 100% of all administrative fees. Every dollar received through donations and sponsorships goes directly to those in need.
We thank the Association for Women in Communications for this exciting recognition.
