Preparation for Service Appointments
We’re Ready to Serve You – Here’s How to Prepare
Thank you for scheduling your gas service appointment with Washington Gas.
Your time matters to us, and we want you to know exactly what to expect during your service appointment. A technician will arrive within your scheduled window. If plans change due to field conditions or earlier appointments, we’ll notify you promptly by email or phone. Our goal is to keep you informed and ensure a smooth visit.
To ensure a smooth and safe visit, please review these quick reminders:
- Safety First
If you smell gas or suspect a leak, leave the area immediately and call 911.
For connection appointments, the technician will perform a safety inspection and relight gas appliances during the visit.
Please note: our technicians do not repair or service customer-owned appliances. If an appliance is found to be unsafe or non-operational, it will not be relit and you may need to contact a licensed appliance professional for repairs.
- Clear Access
Make sure our technician can easily reach your gates, gas meter, appliance, and work areas.
- Adult Presence
An adult (18+) must be home during the full appointment window to provide access and approve the work.
- Secure Pets
Please keep pets in a safe space away from the work area prior to the technician’s arrival.
- Stay Connected
Please keep your phone nearby in case we need to reach you.
For rescheduling, please call 844-WASHGAS as soon as possible.
We look forward to providing a safe and reliable experience.
