INTERRUPTIBLE CUSTOMERS

ALL INTERRUPTIBLE OPERATIONS ARE AT NORMAL STATUS

 

Interruptible operations are in NORMAL status meaning there are no interruptible operations or restrictions currently in effect.  Interruptible customers should maintain contact with their third-party natural gas supplier for operational instructions or contractual restrictions specific to their contract.

Advance Notification:  All Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station Operators

 

Washington Gas will begin utilization of its Rockville Propane Air Peak Shaving facility at approximately 8:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2025.  The injections of propane air mixture, to supplement our normal gas supply, will continue until approximately 2:00 P.M., Wednesday February 19, 2025.,   This notification is intended for the Rockville/Montgomery County Maryland CNG facilities, based on the gas distribution system served by the Rockville Propane Air Peak Shaving facility in Rockville, Maryland. The level of propane injection will vary based on weather and system conditions, please monitor your chromatographs.



We will inform you of any changes to the operational details as the weather and gas supply day develop.


Washington Gas provides this notification as a courtesy to alert our CNG operators of our system operations that may affect their operations, it is important that CNG operators monitor their gas chromatographs to determine if the gas mixture meets their individual facilities requirements for fueling.

BALANCING CURTAILMENT SHORT ALL INTERRUPTIBLE DELIVERY CUSTOMERS IN LEVELS 1D, 2D, 3D IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA


Effective 10:00 a.m., Sunday, December 1, 2024,
all interruptible delivery service customers in Levels 1D, 2D, 3D, will be under a Balancing Curtailment-Short. This means your third-party natural gas supplier MUST deliver natural gas to the Washington Gas system in an amount equal to or greater than your facilities usage. Interruptible delivery service customers should contact your third-party natural gas supplier for operational instructions or contractual restrictions specific to their account.  This Balancing Curtailment-Short is scheduled until further notice.

INTERRUPTIBLE CUSTOMERS REQUESTING TRANSITION TO FIRM SERVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

  

If you are an Interruptible customer that would like to request switching to Firm Service, you may request Firm Service any time during the year, prior to the August 1 deadline. All requests are evaluated between April 1 and August 1, allowing Washington Gas to perform due diligence and research in order to evaluate and possibly accommodate requests.
