Gregory “Steve” Proctor, Jr.

Gregory “Steve” Proctor, Jr. joined the Board of Directors of Washington Gas on July 1, 2026. Mr. Proctor is the President and Chief Executive Officer of G.S. Proctor & Associates, Inc. Since founding the firm in 1995, Mr. Proctor and his associates have provided legislative and administrative representation to a broad spectrum of clients, including institutions of higher learning, non-profit organizations, local and multinational businesses, and local and international governmental bodies on the county, state and federal levels. He is also an entrepreneur and development partner on several key projects within the region.

Mr. Proctor currently serves on the Executive Board at Greater Washington Board of Trade, and the Board of Directors at Wesbanco Bank, CareFirst Board, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center Board, and Catholic Charities Board. He also chairs The United Way of the National Capital Area Board. He previously served on the boards of Junior Achievement, The College of Southern Maryland, The Foundation School, The United Way of the National Capital Area, Bowie State University Board of Visitors, and Prince George’s Community College. He has also served as the Chair of The Greater Prince George’s Business Roundtable.

Mr. Proctor earned his B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University.
