Washington Gas Announces Leadership Transition, Names Jason Weekley COO & President, Washington Gas
WASHINGTON, D.C. — June 24, 2026 — Washington Gas today announced that Jason Weekley will become Chief Operating Officer, Utilities & President of Washington Gas, succeeding Blue Jenkins, who is stepping down to pursue a new leadership opportunity. The transition is effective July 1.
Mr. Weekley has more than 30 years of experience in the natural gas and utilities industry and currently leads operations for Washington Gas. He has overseen the work that keeps the company’s system running safely and reliably every day across the region.
“Blue Jenkins leaves Washington Gas well-positioned for the future,” said Mr. Weekley. “He built strong relationships in the communities where we serve, reinforced our focus on customers and safety, and advanced the investments needed to deliver reliable energy across the region. I am honored to carry that forward. Washington Gas is here for the DMV, and I’m focused on continuing that momentum.”
Mr. Jenkins led Washington Gas for nearly seven years, during which time the company strengthened its commitment to customers, deepened its presence in communities across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and invested billions of dollars to modernize the infrastructure that delivers safe, affordable, reliable energy to families and businesses.

This work will continue under Corine Bushfield’s role as EVP & President, Utilities of AltaGas, who brings decades of energy leadership and a strong understanding of our business and customers.
