
Meter Set Quiet Test
The Process: (Small commercial meter sizes 250 to 425)
- If you are a business owner, please refer to the commercial meter set form and follow the instructions on the form.
- Please be sure to check that your underground service has been installed prior to sending the completed form to contractorservices@washgas.com
- For small diaphragm meter sizes 250 to 425 the meter rack will be installed when the underground service is installed. If you don’t have a meter bar, please request a meter bar for your licensed plumber to tie into upon submission.
- The contractor services team will review the form for completion along with any included attachments to initiate the meter set process, e.g., picture of the local code authority or county inspection and picture of the interior gas piping (houseline) connected to the WG meter bar.
- If all items requested are reviewed and validated the contractor services team will create the service order and provide a notification to the sender of whom the order is assigned to with the expected meter set date. **Please be advised that it may take up to seven days for your meter to be set.

The Process: (Large commercial rotary meters 1.5M and larger)
- If you are a business owner, please refer to the commercial meter set form and follow the instructions on the form.
- Please be sure to check that your underground service has been installed prior to sending the completed form to contractorservices@washgas.com
- For larger meter sizes such as 1.5M - 16M and above, the contractor services team will create the meter set order and coordinate with the contractor rough in team to install the meter rack to support the meter installation.
- Once the meter rack and meter have been installed, the flow of gas will be locked off until submission of the local code authority or county gas line inspection has been received and validated. To have the lock removed, please reach out to the contractor services team, and have the approved gas inspection printed out for the technician to validate when onsite.

The Process:
- Check that your underground service and rack were installed before sending the completed form to Contractor Services.
- Contractor Services will assign one of our specialists to coordinate with you and the meter set contractor to ensure site readiness.
- Site readiness requires:
- Meter rack installation
- Step down regulator(s) installed if applicable.
- Tie in by your plumber/gasfitter to each individual rack.
- Appliance lines valved off and capped or connected to the appliance.
- Proof of the local code authority or county passed gas line inspection.
- For units that are ready for a meter, the houseline must be tied in and labeled per corresponding unit/suite number.

The Process:
For townhouses or duplexes where space is limited, dual meter racks whether horizontal or vertical may be installed.
- Check that your underground service has been installed.
- If the dual rack has not been installed by the above ground contractor, please reach out to contractorservices@washgas.com.
- Once the dual rack is installed, please ensure the following for site readiness:
- Dual rack installation
- Step down regulator(s) installed if applicable.
- Tie in by your plumber/gasfitter to each individual rack.
- Appliance lines valved off and capped or connected to the appliance.
- Proof of the local code authority or county passed gas line inspection.
- Dual rack installation
- Once all these items are complete and verified, you are ready to complete the meter set form and submit to contractorservices@washgas.com.

If you are requesting a residential meter or meters, please fill out the meter set form (below) and submit to ContractorServices@washgas.com
- The contractor services team will review the form for completion along with any included attachments to initiate the meter set process. **If the meter set form is incomplete or the site is not ready the form will be rejected, and a notification will be issued to the sender.
- Please be advised it may take up to seven business days to set the meter.
