Washington Gas, in coordination with the Maryland Public Service Commission, is actively replacing Mercury regulators to ensure customer safety.

If you have received a Required Regulator Survey letter and have a mercury regulator that needs to be replaced, your natural gas service may be at risk of interruption and a reconnection fee may apply.

Has your natural gas service been terminated?

• Contact 1-844-WASHGAS to schedule a Safety Compliance Visit.
• If the regulator is inaccessible during the visit, a contractor will be scheduled at no cost to the customer to provide access. Once the regulator inspection has been cleared then gas can be restored.
• If the regulator is accessible, or it is confirmed there is no mercury regulator at the residence, gas will be restored during the inspection.
• If a Mercury Regulator is found, Washington Gas will coordinate with you to schedule the removal appointment.
