Washington Gas Introduces Home Repair Service Program

WASHINGTON, July 31, 2024 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Washington Gas is bringing homeowners in our community a new optional home repair service plan program. The program available through HomeServe is designed to help homeowners save money and reduce the inconvenience of urgent repairs covered under the available plans. Washington Gas understands that an unexpected home repair can be a big disruption to daily routines and a financial hardship for many homeowners. 

“When something goes wrong in your home, it can be inconvenient, financially stressful and worrying,” said Laurie Owens, Sr. Director Business Support Services. “With this program, area homeowners can opt into a suite of repair service plans that will help alleviate some of the challenges that come along with an unexpected home repair. This is another way Washington Gas is looking out for our community every day.” 

The subscription-based service plan offerings now available to homeowners in the Washington Gas territory are from HomeServe, a leading utility provider of home service solutions. The available plans are designed to cover critical components in the home including plumbing, electrical, heating and water heating systems.  

The program is kicking off with a choice of service plans for repairs that may be needed to the customer-owned natural gas lines from the Washington Gas meter to appliance connections inside or outside of the home or the water service line connecting a customer’s home to their local water provider. Repairs made to these systems are not covered by Washington Gas, water providers or by most basic homeowners' insurance. HomeServe plan holders have access to HomeServe’s Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to schedule a repair. HomeServe will send a local, licensed, and insured professional to perform the covered repairs.  

Local homeowners will soon receive information in the mail about the new program offers available through HomeServe. There is no obligation to sign up for them; program participation is voluntary. The mailings will include the Washington Gas logo to show that the mailing is legitimate, and part of this new program offered through HomeServe.
